Anniversary Card

Hi again.

I thought I'd share my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary card with you today.  They have been married forever, well since I was 7 so it feels like forever and she was my mother's understudy when I was little.  If you ask her she'll tell you to this day she has a bad back from carrying me everywhere!  Sorry Rosalyn and thanks sis!

I printed out the digital stamp from a great freebie site.  I haven't had time to check out the rest of their pages - there's quite a lot.  I just saw the Precious Moments and instantly thought of my big sis, she loves them.  I decided I was gonna colour it in with my paints so I traced it onto cartridge paper (didn't want to take the chance of the ink running) and had a fun afternoon colouring in.  Ain't crafting great - you can revert to your childhood and noone complains!

I then mounted it onto cardstock - mainly cos the water crinkled it a bit and it was a bit flimsy.

Whilst looking for my paints I came across a huge stack of metallic board and parchment card (I've had them so long I forgot they were there) so I used a bit of peach metallic card next - I thought it looked a bit like a beach.

It still needed something - so out came the laptop and the usual trawl through some trusty sites and I found the blue BG strip with shells here.  I love this site.

I decided that I didn't want to put the sentiment on the outside (didn't have enough space - note to self "buy bigger card stock next time") so it went on the inside.  I can never think what to write on the inside of a card so - problem solved.  In-The-Beach-Hut recommended Wordle (please take the time to check out her blog - she's so funny and her makes are gorgeous). So I typed in my sis and BIL's names, their anniversary date, and some suitable romantic words and hey presto a personalised sentiment!

Thanks for stopping by.

A Joke or not a Joke - Revisited THEY WON!!

My last post was a card was for my future FIL and this morning I received a request from him asking to set the record straight :)

"I couldn't help but notice that considerable emphasis was given to their recent run of poor form. In the interests of fair and balanced reporting I would like to think that, although it has absolutely nothing to do with hand crafting, mention will be made in future blogs of Petershill's herioc victory over Auchinleck Talbot on Saturday afternoon. This victory gained in the teeth of adversity may yet not be enough to save them from relegation from the Super Duper League down to the depths of the Super League, but a mention in Peppop's Crafty Place may well inspire the team and thus in some small way assist them in their quest to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!"

So Ian,  the record has been set straight.  C'mon the Peasy!!!

A Joke or not A Joke

It was my (future) FatherInLaw's birthday.  Ian is the world's worst (or best - depending on your view point) at making puns - he can find them for everything!!!  He also loves Petershill FC (a local team who are not the best - sorry Ian) so I couldn't help making a joke card for his birthday.  I got the cartoon from the web and spent an afternoon happily recolouring and rewording it on Paint Shop Pro.

Thanks for everything Ian, you've been great over the years (although I could live without the bad jokes - only kidding!) xxx

The green glitter card is from my card stock
The sentiment came from here

When Ian saw his card he said that they could do with this goalie - they lost that day! OOPS!

Cream Mother's Day Card

This is the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day.  Unfortunately she doesn't have the best of health and is going blind so I wanted it to be special for her and although she'll be able to see some of it (and my big sis can describe it to her) I added some texture so she can at least get an idea of it.

Thanks for always being there mum - and especially for all our chats into the wee small hours trying not to wake the rest of the house laughing hysterically at something stupid xxx

This time I was inspired by two cards:
  • Wanda's beautiful card at My Creative Corner
  • and Jennie "The Crafty Wife" (my lovely MSE friend - thanks again for you RAK!)  I thought Jennie's Mother's Day card was gorgeous!!
The glitter card is from my card stock.
The background paper is from here and here
The script paper and flower was sent to me by Jennie (if you check out her Mother's Day card you'll spot them!)
The picture was taken from here.  I thought it matched the rest perfectly.

Hope you like it.

Lilac Mother's Day Card

This is the card I made for my future Mother In Law for Mother's day.  This is the first card I've made for her so I wanted to make it special as she is.  I couldn't wish for a better (future) MIL, thanks Michelle xxx

I was inspired by a beautiful card made by Wanda at My Creative Corner.  I know she loves lilac so this is what I came up with.

The purple glitter card is from my card stock.
The background papers came from here, here and here
The picture came from here, I thought it was lovely.
The flower came from Jak Heath's blog although this is for a double flower I just used the smallest one.

Life got in the way!!

Hi all,

First of all I just want to say thank you to all my followers and anyone else who stops by, it's very much appreciated and I love reading all your comments.

Secondly I want to say sorry for not being about in the last month.  "Life got in the way!"  I have made three cards which I'm about to share with you but everything crafty was put on hold in the last month - but guess what "I'm BACK!!" so thanks for your patience.
