Footie Easel Card

Happy Tuesday Everyone.

The card I want to show you is my first ever easel card.  I had visions of getting in a twist with it but it was pretty straightforward.  I cheated slightly and used 1 1/2 card blanks.

A friend at work asked me to make a card for her grandson, who is 10 on Christmas Day.  He plays for East Kilbride Thistle Juniors so I designed my own digi-stamp and coloured him in the teams colours.  I snagged the backgrounds and the football from the net.  The sentiment was made on Photoshop.

My favourite bit (apart from my image – which I’m chuffed with) is the football.  I stuck it onto some acetate and attached it to the card with a glue dot so it looks as if it’s floating.  You can sort of see what I mean in the bottom picture.

My Sister’s Birthday Card

I hope you’re all having a great Monday - or as great a Monday as you can have Winking smile

Tonight I’d like to show you a card I made for my big sister.  She made me promise that I wouldn’t put her age on it especially as she knew I’d put it on my blog – under penalty of death I hasten to add Laughing out loud.  So there was no way I was putting her age on it and Rosalyn, if you’re reading this, I’m gonna do it next year Rolling on the floor laughing
I’ve had this image for ages and I’ve been waiting to use it, it’s just so cute.  It was a freebie and I can’t remember where from, sorry.  If anyone recognises it can you let me know so I can give credit where it’s due.

Recipe

Card blank from stock
Backing Papers – Raspberry Road Designs, Papermania Blueberry Hill pack, scrap
Image – sorry can’t remember
Flower – Shapabilities flower die (this isn’t where I bought, just a picture of it)
Martha Stewart ATP Vintage Lace
Pearls and Gemstone from stock

Goodnight all

White Flower Card

Good evening bloggers. I hope you're all having a great Friday night.

Tonight I want to show you a card I made for my MIL, I wanted to make it a bit special for her.

I remember seeing a card awhile ago that had a huge flower on it and thought I would try to make something similar. I scoured the Internet to try to find out how to make one but couldn't really find what I was looking for. I had some white tissue paper I wanted to use so I decided to make a carnation type . I didn't fluff it up too much in the centre because I wanted to put something in it – cos I'd found the perfect button. I tied the flower with dental floss and had left long ends so I threaded these through the button to keep it tight and used a glue dot to keep it in place.

I used one of my new embossing folders on some plain white card, pierced a hole in the centre, threaded the dental floss through this and stuck it at the back. On all the raised dots I stuck some gold peeloffs and some flat-backed pearls (to match the button).

The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped with gold ink and heat embossed.

So here it is – I hope you like it. I have to admit I'm quite proud of this one.

I made a box for it out of gold card but the pictures didn't turn out very well so you'll just have to imagine that part.

Recipe

White card stock
White tissue paper
Dental floss
Button – from my sewing box
Gold peeloffs
Flat backed pearls

Born in the USA

Good evening bloggers.

1st of all I need to make an apology – I've just realised it's been two weeks since I posted. Where has time gone???

Some of you will already know I got my first card commission the other day WHOO HOO!

I was told it was for a guy, he's turning 40, and he's loves Bruce Springsteen. Now when anyone says Bruce Springsteen to me I instantly think "Born in the USA" and Denim. I came up with the idea of making an American flag but using denim, coloured red, for the stripes – sounds like a great idea but in practice it was awful. It looked really messy and way too dark so after a couple of nights umming and ahhing over it, in the bin it went.

Plan B KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) there is nothing wrong with red card!! Although in hindsight I would have printed them off with the white stripes as a whole not as individual stripes that I then had to stick onto the card topper – nightmare trying to get the spacing correct and get them straight (What was that about Keep It Simple Stupid!)

Anyhoo here it is.
